Range Rules

R A N G E   O P E R A T I N G   R U L E S
It's probably impossible to draft a code that covers every situation.  The most important rule, therefore, isn't included in the list, it is assumed:
USE COMMON SENSE AND BE CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBLITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS TO ENFORCE COMPLIANCE TO THESE RULES.

1.  EACH PERSON MUST HAVE HIS MEMBERSHIP CARD AND BADGE ON HIS PERSON WHILE ON THE RANGE, AND MUST SHOW THEM TO ANY MEMBER OR OFFICER ON DEMAND. 
2.  A MEMBER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF HIS GUESTS.  A GUEST MAY SHOOT ONLY UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF A MEMBER.
3.  NO MEMBER SHALL GIVE ANY RANGE KEY OR COMBINATION TO ANY PERSON.
4.  NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED ON THE RANGE.

5.  THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE FORESTRY ROAD ENTERING THE RANGE AND ALL U.S. FORESTRY REGULATIONS SHALL BE STRICTLY OBEYED.
6.  IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH CLUB OR MEMBER TO LEAVE THE RANGE IN A CLEAN AND SECURE CONDITION.  BURNING OF REFUSE IN ANY MANNER IS FORBIDDEN.
7.  ALL BIG BORE AND CENTERFIRE RIFLES WILL BE FIRED ONLY INTO AN APPROVED BACKSTOP.  NO SHOOTING AT THE 300-YARD BERM.  NO SHOOTING AT ANYTHING ON THE ROAD TO THE 300-YARD BERM.  ONLY PAPER OR CARDBOARD TARGETS ON TOP OF THE 100 AND 200-YARD BERMS MAY BE USED. 
8.  DO NOT HANDLE ANOTHER PERSONS' WEAPONS WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION.

9.  BE CONSIDERATE OF SHOOTERS.  TALKING AND MOVEMENT BEHIND THE FIRING LINE WILL BE KEPT TO A MINIMUM.
10. ANY VIOLATIONS OR UNSAFE CONDITIONS MUST BE REPORTED TO THE RANGE OFFICER.
11.  WHEN YOU USE THE RANGE FOR OTHER THAN A CLUB ACTIVITY OR EVENT, BE SURE THE GATES ARE LOCKED BEHIND YOU.

12.  TRACER, INCENDIARY, ARMOR PIERCING AND SHOTSHELL TRAINING AMMUNITION ARE PROHIBITED AT ALL TIMES.  NO WOLF, NORINCO OR OTHER STEEL-CORE BULLETS MAY BE USED ANYWHERE ON OUR RANGE AT ANY TIME.

13.  FIRING WILL BE CONDUCTED AT APPROVED TARGETS ONLY.  THIS EXCLUDES TIN CANS, BOTTLES, ROCKS AND WILDLIFE.

S A F E T Y   R U L E S
1.  PROPER EYE AND EAR PROTECTION MUST BE USED
2.  ALL FIREARMS WILL BE UNLOADED AND THE ACTIONS OPENED WHEN NOT FIRING.

3.  THE RANGE OFFICER MAY PROHIBIT THE USE OF ANY FIREARM, AMMUNITION OR EQUIPMENT WHICH HE FEELS MAY BE UNSAFE. ABSOLUTELY NO FULL AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.
4.  NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED FORWARD OF THE FIRING LINE UNTIL ALL WEAPONS ARE UNLOADED AND LAID DOWN, WITH THE ACTIONS OPEN.
5.  NO PERSON SHALL WALK FORWARD OF THE FIRING LINE WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE RANGE OFFICER.  NO PERSON SHALL HANDLE A WEAPON DURING A CEASE-FIRE PERIOD.
6.  ANY PERSON SHALL CALL "CEASE FIRE," IF HE OBSERVES ANY UNSAFE CONDITION OR PERSONNEL IN THE IMPACT AREA OR HILLS BEHIND THE IMPACT AREAS.
7.  KEEP ALL WEAPONS POINTED IN A SAFE OR DOWN RANGE DIRECTION AT ALL TIMES.
8.  LOAD YOUR WEAPON ONLY AT THE DIRECTION OF THE RANGE OFFICER.
9.  THE NRA SAFETY RULES WILL BE ADHERED TO AND ARE CONSIDERED PART OF THESE RULES.
